These small spiny creatures are endemic to the coastlines of New Zealand. The bright orange roe of kina is a delicacy, and considered a Taonga by many Maori.
My original master Kina shell was fabricated with Repousse and Chasing (some of the oldest techniques in silversmithing).
Sterling silver lightweight half Kina shells. Choose between sterling silver or sterling silver hand painted with Jade green porcelain paint. Hanging from sterling silver ear hooks. The Kina shells are 17mm in diameter and measure approximately 3.5cm in length from the top of the ear hooks.

Please note:
Lilygriffin jewellery is dainty and delicate, so care must be taken when wearing and storing it.
Please do not wear while exercising, swimming, gardening, showering, cleaning or sleeping. Store in a soft protective pouch or box out of direct sunlight and away from moisture, excessive heat or cold. Please do not store in the bathroom. Avoid contact with household chemicals, perfumes, creams, and hairspray/gels.
I would be delighted if you wanted to wear my jewellery everyday, but please be aware that you will be able to enjoy your handpainted pieces longer if they are not worn on a day to day basis.
