Pearls are the oldest known gem and have been used in jewellery and gift giving for centuries. Pearls were knotted on silk thread to stop the pearls from scratching against each other and damaging the nacre. The knots also prevented whole strings of expensive pearls being lost if the silk thread snapped. My pearl necklaces follow this tradition of hand knotting- each pearl is threaded carefully on 100% silk and knotted secured in place.
My Ruby pearl necklace features cream baroque pearls with possibly the most brilliant rainbow lustre I have ever seen. Subtle iridescent plays of colour from golden pinks to purples, blues and greens. The pearls are hand knotted on ruby and blush coloured 100% natural silk threads. Finished with silver french wire, and attached to a sterling silver toggle clasp. The toggle clasp displays a sterling silver wild rose with solid 10k gold centre.
The necklace measures approximately 43cm (including clasp). Each pearl averages 9x5 mm. Sterling silver wild rose is 7mm.
Silk thread is incredibly strong, but can snap if excessive force is used. Please be gentle to avoid breakage.
Please do not wear while exercising, swimming, gardening, showering, cleaning or sleeping. Store in a soft protective pouch or box out of direct sunlight and away from moisture, excessive heat or cold. Please do not store in the bathroom. Avoid contact with household chemicals, perfumes, creams, and hairspray/gels.
