Traditionally used to heal and comfort by Maori, Kawakawa leaves were often worn as headresses at a Tangi as a sign of mourning. They were an ever present symbol throughout life - from naming and birthing ceremonies to blessing food, and healing medicines.
Sweet and petite, my little Kawakawa leaves will add a touch of Aotearoa's nature to your hair.
Each hairpin is carefully created in full sterling silver, polished to a high shine, and then delicately hand painted with porcelain paint in shimmering greens. Measuring almost 6.5 cm from the top of the leaves to the bottom of the pins, my hairpins are sturdy, yet lightweight.
