Inspired by little bugs dancing through the golden afternoon light, this latest heirloom collection began with the pearls themselves. Their iridescent, metallic lustre reminded me of the shimmering wings of beetles and bugs—tiny treasures found in nature. A whimsical twist on the classic pearl charm for June.
The birthstone for June, pearls are the oldest known gem and have been used in jewellery and gift giving for centuries. The gemstone of inner wisdom, they symbolise faith and innocence. Pearls are thought to help balance body rhythms and hormone levels with lunar cycles, and to harmonize people with the natural world around them.
Nell: Meaning `shining light' or `bright shining one'.
This little June bug has a beautiful baroque pearl body with very high lustre. It reminds me of fuzzy bumblebees with their big bodies and tiny wings.
Primarily lilac pink with hints of golden peach, this lovely pearl is encased in a fine silver bezel, with a sterling silver backing. Tiny sterling silver wings with delicate details are looped onto a 6mm fixed ring, and can flip from the front to the back if you prefer to showcase the pearl! A floral pattern adorns the reverse of the charm.
Measuring 17mm x 7mm (including ring bail). Handmade in my studio from recycled sterling silver.
Can be purchased as a charm only, or with a chain included. Please choose from the drop down menu.
Arrives presented in a Lilygriffin gift box.
Sterling silver carabiner charm holders sold separately. (please note Nell only fits the small carabiner). The wings are delicate, so please be gentle.
