A distinctive heart shape leaf, Kawakawa, from the Maori word Kawa, meaning `bitter', has been used throughout Maori history as a tea for medicinal purposes. Kawakawa leaves are also traditionally worn after the loss of a loved one.
Sterling silver Kawakawa leaves (16mm x 14mm), hand painted with porcelain paint. Soldered to an 8mm sterling silver lapel pin with a sterling silver pinch closure. The porcelain paint is water and scratch resistant.
Please note: The gap between the leaves and the closure is 4mm, so this pin is best worn with thicker material.

Please note:
Lilygriffin jewellery is dainty and delicate, so care must be taken when wearing and storing it.
Please do not wear while exercising, swimming, gardening, showering, cleaning or sleeping. Store in a soft protective pouch or box out of direct sunlight and away from moisture, excessive heat or cold. Please do not store in the bathroom. Avoid contact with household chemicals, perfumes, creams, and hairspray/gels.
I would be delighted if you wanted to wear my jewellery everyday, but please be aware that you will be able to enjoy your handpainted pieces longer if they are not worn on a day to day basis.
